About Cephalopelvic Disproportion (CPD)
Cephalopelvic disproportion occurs when a baby's head or body is too large to fit through the mother's pelvis or birth canal during labor. According to the American College of Nurse Midwives, CPD occurs in about one out of every 250 pregnancies, making it one of the most common causes of labor complications.
