$1.5 million settlement for the family of a woman who died during surgery of anesthesia complications. The patient was having spinal surgery to replace steel rods that had been surgically implanted in her spine to correct her scoliosis. During the surgery, the anesthesiologist failed to adequately maintain the patient's fluid balance. As a result, the patient suffered cardiac arrest and died on the operating table. She was survived by her husband and three adult children.
