Medical Malpractice in Ohio Isn’t Accepted by the Board

Despite the fact that some doctors have had multiple medical malpractice
cases against them and had to pay out, in Florida it has been discovered
that the physicians are still practicing medicine. As a person who has
suffered from medical malpractice, this is something that you certainly
don’t want to see happen.

In one man’s case, his wife passed away after having emergency surgery
for appendicitis. The woman came out of surgery, but two days later, she
bled to death. The woman’s husband, a doctor and medical educator,
reported that his wife’s medical file had proof that her death could
have been prevented. After surgery, her blood pressure had been low for
hours, yet no one ordered lab tests or studies to see why that was the
case. He claims that vital signs like those are easy to understand and
that anyone with medical training, even basic training, would know something
wasn’t right.

What does this have to do with Ohio? Interestingly, the case looked into
the areas of the United States that take the least, and most, action against
potentially dangerous doctors. According to the article, Ohio is one of
the top three states for taking action against those involved in malpractice
cases. That means that the State Medical Board of Ohio takes the time
to review, and punish, those who are negligent or cause patients to be
injured unnecessarily. That’s not the case in several other states.

If you have lost a loved one like the man in this case or have faced serious
injuries after an operation or medical procedure in Ohio, it’s important
to know that you have rights as a victim, and they should be heard. You
may pursue charges against your doctor and may be able to seek compensation
for your pain and suffering along with your medical bills.
