PROM or Premature rupture of membranes is a condition occurring in pregnancy
in which the membranes in the amniotic sac and chorion rupture more than
one hour before the onset of labor. When this rupture occurs before 37
weeks gestation, it is known as pre-term premature rupture of membranes or PPROM.
PPROM is significantly more dangerous, however, both conditions can have
a negative effect on the baby. It usually brought on by infection and,
when it occurs, it is necessary that the mother receives treatment to
avoid possible harm to the child. Failure to take appropriate action after
PPROM may be putting infants’ lives in jeopardy. Medical professional
may also be committing medical malpractice. At the Rocky River law office
